Rosato Giampietro

Harpsichord, Organ and Organistic Composition

Giampietro Rosato, harpsichord player, pianist and organist, was born in 1970 in Padua, where he began his musical studies and gained recognition for his interpretations of Baroque and classical works as well as New Music.
He attended courses held by Tom Koopman, Michael Radulescu, Luigi Ferdinando Tagliavini, Gustav Leonhardt, Andreas Staier and Eckart Sellheim. He has studied harpsichord and organ at the State College of Music in Trossingen, and with Jean-Claude Zehnder at the Basel Schola Cantorum.
Giampietro Rosato has won several prizes in national and international competitions, including Stresa (1988), Bologna (1993), Prague (1994), Brugge (1995), where he also received the “Audience Prize”, and Leipzig (1996). In 1996 he was awarded the DAAD prize by the Trossingen State College of Music, and the following year he won first prize in the international harpsichord competition held by NDR -North German Radio- in Hamburg.
In addition to his solo work, which involves him in many radio (SWF, MDR, NDR, N3 and ORF) and CD recordings, Giampietro Rosato also plays with other soloists and with chamber groups. He has been continuo player and solo harpsichordist of the Sonatori della Gioiosa Marca since 1997.
From 1994 to 1999 he was a part-time lecturer for the harpsichord, chamber music and repetiteur work at the Trossingen State College of Music’s Institute for Early Music and currently he teaches at the Udine Conservatoire.
Giampietro Rosato was invited to perform in numerous festival and concert halls in Italy and Europe (Klavierfestival-Ruhr, International harpsichord Festival of Milan, Bach Museum "Historischer Sommersaal" of Leipzig, Händel-Haus in Halle, Teatro Nuovo of Verona, Baroque September of Padua, Festival Antegnati of Brescia, International Organ Festival "City of Treviso", Teatro Bibiena of Mantua).
Recently, he edited for the publishing house Armelin Musica of Padua the modern edition of "Sonata for Violin and Organ" by Oreste Ravanello and will be published shortly "6 Concerts for harpsichord and orchestra" by B. Galuppi.
